Cryptography is an integral part of our work here at the Institutes. In addition to the clear necessity of maintaining secure internal communications, much of the information we receive or uncover is heavily encrypted.

With 5 department heads and hundreds of code-masters located throughout the world, it is by far the largest branch of the Institutes. Each department of cryptographic study shares a location (and information) with a related core branch, in part for discretion, but truly, for innovation.
