There is no creature more synonymous with cryptozoology than the abominable snowman, the oft-imagined bipedal of the Himalayas, the yeti itself. Close to a month I spent on the side of Mount Lhotse, frozen half to death, with only hope and scraps of local legend to keep me going. And it was all worth it. It’s a magnificent, regal creature, reminiscent of the great apes of Africa with whom it perhaps shares a lineage. This validation alone was worth the entire journey, whether or not my future investigations provide as much... Less exciting were the signs I discovered upon my return trek down the mountain indicating that I was not as alone there as I’d anticipated.
I’ll have to be more careful as I continue...
